Lee Bratcher, President of the Texas Blockchain Council, predicts that the Texas Bitcoin industry will grow from less than 1% of Texas’ GDP to around 3% of Texas’ GDP by 2030. The O&G sector is around 9% of Texas' GDP today.

The US House Committee on Energy & Commerce’s subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations may be planning a hearing on Bitcoin’s environmental impact and the carbon footprint of crypto mining. Texas Congressman Michael Burgess from Denton County sits on this subcommittee.
